De mayor was born Darlington Osang Ashu onMay 16 1988 in Mamfe, Cameroon. De mayorhails from Manyu Division, Cameroon, in the Southwest region of Cameroon.He attended primary/ secondary school and had advanced level In GBHS mamfe,He gained admission at Université de Douala, Douala Where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Social Science.

De mayor passion in music started when he became a member of a catholic church Choir, his unique skills on adlibs and voice chop on beats earned him the appellation “Cameroon’s Fast rising RnB artist”.He began his music career by writing songs and playing church instruments. He wrote his first song “WehKeh” at the age of 20 and began music professionally in the year 2015 when he left his old time crew.In July 2017,He decided to form his own crew and label called DkT. In 2018 De mayor Under the label released his first singles “No no no” and in November 2018 his label released another of De mayors single title “Sha pra pra” In 2019 THE Atlanta Based artist did his first international collaboration with Cameroon top trending artist Lord Biston.”Dance for me” featuring De mayor
